Brewing 101

Picture

Rage Against the Machines

Why brew coffee by hand when using a brewer is easier? The answer is simple--quality. A barista who brews coffee by hand can control every aspect of the brewing process: temperature, saturation, flow-thru rates, water volume, and freshness--all of the things that contribute to an excellent cup of coffee. As our guest, you will never have to ask how old our coffee is: we make it to order.

How Do You Brew?

The brewing method that we have chosen is known as the "Beehouse." The reason that we have selected this particular method is because we want our guest to experience coffee as it should be: rich and flavorful, with the hardy body that the chemex lacks and without the bitterness of the oils left behind by a french press .

Espresso Yourself

Latte Imitating Art

Producing hand-crafted espresso beverages is an art--at least for the baristas at Rosetta. We do not simply press buttons on a machine and heat milk. There is a method to our madness. We start with fresh-roasted coffee and measured doses of ground coffee packed delicately into a portafilter. As hot water makes its way through the coffee bed, our baristas are looking for a burnt-amber color and a syrup-like emulsion of espresso to fall into your cup. Simultaneously, our baristas are steaming up a whirling vortex of textured milk that will soon enjoin the espresso, creating a vivid canvas of taste in your palette. Let us paint you a picture of which many of our competitors can only dream. Latte art can only be produced with the right product, the right equipment, and the right techniques. And although our lattes may be pretty to look at, they also taste great, so good that we do not have to add syrups, whipped cream, or chocolate sprinkles to make them enjoyable.
